In this course, GYROTONIC® Trainers learn to apply GYROTONIC® movement principles to exercises on the Archway.
The Archway is the most recent evolution of the Ladder and is an incredible tool to incorporate into your personal regime, as well as utilize with your clients. Many people feel intimidated by this piece of equipment, but with detailed instruction students leave the course with a clear understanding of how to work with it for their own bodies and how immensely useful it will be for their clients.
The Archway helps students better understand the GYROTONIC® Method, particularly because of the unique way you utilize your own body weight, gravity, and leverage. You gain a very different sense of space in your body that allows you to move in areas without your typical feelings of restriction. It demands a deeper sense of strength through relaxation and precision, rather than force, and is a terrific tool to develop strength in your spine without compression. By the end of this course you will feel many new sensations in your body, an immense increase in strength, and will also have a greater understanding of the work which you will immediately be able to incorporate into your personal regime and teaching practice.
We strongly suggested that you do some introductory sessions on the Archway prior to participating in this course.

2018 Training Courses and Workshops

with Kathleen Aharoni
Dates: February 9, 10, 11, 2018
(see date/time + cost breakdown below)
We are all strongest and most effective when we show up in an allowing relationship with our self, our environment and one another. Develop your best self by opening your senses and rediscovering your innate capacity for learning, trust, exchange, pleasure, presence, expansiveness and much more, including elegant, efficient, pain-free movement, agility, coordination, balance, ease and range of motion.  Through the Feldenkrais Method®, you can develop and know your most dynamic self through curiosity, movement, sensation and cognition. Easefully and quickly your world will open as you gain self-awareness, freedom of movement and thought, clarity of physical, emotional and cognitive patterns and much opportunity to catalyze your psycho-neurology and open to a new, creative and potent way of being in the world. Through these seemingly effortless movement explorations called Awareness through Movement® (ATM) lessons, you will:
  • Become a more differentiated being and experientially learn how the greater the differentiation the more dynamic the whole.
  • Learn to catalyze and understand vitality.
  • Learn the importance of how vs why for forward movement
  • Develop and/or sharpen your ability to recognize relational patterns and how to introduce curiosity and creativity to instigate new patterns for optimal functioning.
  • Learn to hold and shift between many thoughts, while allowing for more input.
  • Understand through sensation how the importance of being “right” creates stagnation and limitation and stymies creativity.
  • Release physical pain.
  • Gain new found freedom of thought and movement.
  • Recognize and release fears and habits.
  • Develop greater trust, knowing and intelligence.
  • Engage in the development of self-mastery.

The Feldenkrais Method® is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, and an empirical understanding of learning and the evolutionary development of the human nervous system and innate plasticity of the brain. All levels of movement ability are welcome.

“Everyone, regardless of age or condition has the ability to learn and improve. –Deborah Bowes

“We are interested in developing capacit, not strategy.” – Francois Combeau, Feldenkrais® Practitioner and Trainer

Trainer: Mike Luque
Dates: May 18-20, 2018
Times: 10am-1pm & 3p-5p each day
Studio Fee: $150
Course Fee: $350
Total Investment: $500
Prerequisite: GYROTONIC® Level I Certified Trainer
Take the Wingmaster from a fascinating decoration on your wall that you occasionally use to an intrinsic part of your training sessions.
This workshop increases the vocabulary of exercises that are possible using the GYROTONIC® Wingmaster and the Pulley Tower. Trainers learn new ways to connect the Wingmaster to the Tower then take those movements and add total body connectivity and strength. Pushing and pulling, upper body strengthening exercises are combined with lower body strength movement, like squats and lunges. The exercises in this workshop can be applied to clients of various ability levels, from seniors with strength and/or mobility limitations to athletes seeking to increase total body conditioning and coordination.

A current GYROTONIC® Level 1 Trainer certification is the prerequisite for enrollment in GYROTONIC® Workshops. This Wingmaster Workshop does not qualify for continuing education credit for GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® Trainers.

Mike began his GYROTONIC® journey as a client in 1998. Mike was already a massage therapist and after only 5 sessions he realized that for people to really improve their bodies, they need to do some of the work themselves, so he decided to become a trainer. Working with Debra Rose and Nora Heiber, he became a certified instructor and certified on all the specialized equipment. He’s also a certified GYROKINESIS® instructor and has taken the foundation with Juliu Horvath and again with Domini Anne. He’s had the great pleasure of taking courses with eight different Master Trainers.
Mike first started developing the Wingmaster workshop when he was living in Atlanta. It began with the simple question “Hey, why are there eye hooks on the back of the Wingmaster?” So he began to explore. With his background as an NASM personal trainer, he took movement principles from traditional strength training and applied the GYROTONIC® touch to them to develop the Wingmaster workshop.
